Ana Almena

I began my studies in Physiotherapy at the University of Zaragoza (1996-1999), where I continued my training with the Master’s in Structural and Cranio-Visceral Osteopathy (2000-2005) at the Madrid School of Osteopathy. I also worked in Bilbao at the Athletic Club de Bilbao physiotherapist’s clinic with elite athletes. I was able to treat a wide variety of sports-related injuries and specialize in neuromuscular rehabilitation (2008), specific sports massage techniques (2008), and acupuncture applied to osteopathic injuries (2009), along with orthomolecular nutrition (2010). After six years and extensive experience in sports, I decided to focus on osteopathy and began working at the Still Osteopathic Medicine Center in Bilbao (2005-2013), specializing primarily in traumatology and rheumatology, specifically in the treatment of herniated discs and joint degeneration (precursors of ozone therapy and platelet-rich plasma).

In 2013, I decided to change my life, take a one-year leave of absence (which ultimately became almost three) and travel the world, with the goal of exploring other countries and cultures, and broadening the approach of Western medicine to gain a more holistic, comprehensive, and integrative view of the human being.

And that’s where my passion for yoga, breathing, and meditation, along with the functioning of the mind and emotions, began. I was also fascinated by traditional Eastern medicines (Ayurvedic medicine and traditional Chinese medicine).

After this great journey, both external and internal, where I explored, learned, worked, and volunteered in different countries in Asia and Latin America, I decided to return to Spain in 2016, and in this case to Fuerteventura, where I have been applying my personal holistic approach to patients for nine years through the body-mind-soul integration I consider necessary for human development and well-being.

I graduated with a Reiki Level 2 Master (2014) to connect with our energetic body. I also studied Neurolinguistic Programming (2019-2020) to better understand the conditioning of our mind in our physical processes and to improve my communication skills. I completed the Diploma in Bioneuroemotion with Enric Corbera (2023) to expand my levels of consciousness and understand internal processes that result in somatic pain/diseases that affect our physical body but are based on psycho-emotional blockages.

I’m currently immersed in a Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, which helps me continue integrating acupuncture channels with myofascial releases and emotions as part of a whole, in the pursuit of balance.

Alex gave me the opportunity and confidence to work on our “Balance” program, and since 2023, we’ve been working together to support the journey of each person who needs our help, using the most holistic and caring approach possible.

We look forward to seeing you.

The Secrets are of the Soul, but the Body is the book where they are read.
